CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor provided in a system controlling part 10 of an image processing device initializes row and column direction magnifying and reducing circuits 11, 12 by an image data provided from a host CPU14 through a channel coupling circuit 13, and magnifying control information, sets a value corresponding to the magnifying power to magnifying and reducing registers provided in each circuit, so as to become a magnifying mode, and after that, outputs a start signal and operates the circuit 12. In the circuit 12, a bit in the column direction magnifying and reducing instruction register instructed by a pointer is tested, and in case of ''0'', the portion equivalent to one row of original image data stored in an image storage device 15 is magnified and stored by giving the instruction to the circuit 11. In case of ''1'', the latest one row in new image data is fetched and is stored as the next row. Said operation is executed repeatedly.
