Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a remaining document effectively, by providing an external memory device having a storing area and a working area, deciding that a blank is written, when an error is detected in case of reading out a document from the working area, and continuing the processing. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a floppy disk 3 having a store area and a work area in a word processor of Japanese language, a picture buffer 4 for storing a 1 display data, and a cntrol part for controlling the whole document. An external memory control 16 is placed in this control part, and in accordance with operation of a next page key 7 and a previous page key 8 from the input part, a display page number register 11, a +1 circuit 12, a -1 circuit 13 and gates 14, 15 are used, and its number of pages is stored in the work area of the disk device 3 whenever a document of 1 page quiantity is prepared. Also, when the whole document is prepared, the document of the work area is saved in the store area, and is displayed on the indicator through the buffer 4. When reading out the document from the work area, if an error is detected, it is decided that a blank is written, and the processing is coninued by a recovery control part 17.
