Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve temperature compensation by providing a temperature nonlinear element to a bias circuit in a microwave amplifier consisting of an FET whose source electrode is grounded.
CONSTITUTION: A gate bias voltage is applied to a terminal 10 and divided by bleeder resistances 8 and 9a to be applied to the gate of an FET5 through a matching circuit 3. The bleeder resistance 9a is a thermistor which has a negative temperature coefficient and its resistance decreases with a temperature rise, so that the gate bias voltage also drops. Consequently, the gain is increased, so output variations with temperature are compensated. A bias voltage to the drain electrode may be compensated.
