Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically regulate air in a pressure tank to a constant pressure regardless of the suction pressure of a pump by disposing between the pump and the tank a cylinder for communicating the suction pressure with the discharge pressure of the pump, in addition to a discharge pipe system of the pump.
CONSTITUTION: A drive portion 10 includes an upwardly urged partition wall 13, an upper chamber 14, a lower chamber 15, and a piston 23. A lower cylinder chamber 26 partitioned by the piston 23 communicates the drive portion 10 with a cylinder 22 through a cylinder 22 and an inlet port 32 formed to open tangentially in a peripheral wall of the cylinder 22. A vortex flow type diode 27 is coupled to a suction valve 37 through an intake port 33 and includes a vortex flow chamber 31 which is communicated with an upper cylinder chamber 25 through an axial outlet port 34 formed to open at the center of the diode 27. By such construction, supply of air to the pressure tank 7 is effected only when the level of water in the tank is above a reference level L0, and such air supply is automatically effected in association with starting and stopping of the pump 4.
