Abstract

PURPOSE: To constantly provide a proper air fuel ratio for an internal combustion engine which is equipped with an EGR controller by correcting the quantity of fuel injection correspondent to the quantity of an inflow of air into a suction pipe in an operation range of an EGR valve on the basis of a detected amount of a recirculation gas through an EGR valve.
CONSTITUTION: An EGR controller performs such an operation that a suction negative pressure above a throttle valve 3 is transmitted from a port 6 via a solenoid valve 10 being opened into a negative pressure chamber of an EGR valve 15 and pushes up a diaphragm 16 against a load of a spring 17 to open a valve body 20, thereby allowing a part of an exhaust gas to be fed back into a suction pipe 2 from a port 5. A slide resistor 18 which measures a shift of the valve 20 is provided inside the EGR valve 15 and exhibits a variation in resistance, from which a computer unit 22 derives a circulation amount of an exhaust gas. A real amount of an air is calculated by subtracting the circulation amount. Based on the result, the quantity of a fuel injection is corrected to control an injection valve 7.
