Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform proper control of the engine by conducting recirculation of exhaust gas at a rate of EGR corresponding to the load of the engine and the number of revolutions thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The intake and exhaust passages 9 and 11 of the diesel engine 3 are communicated by an exhaust-gas recirculation passage 46 having a valve 43 at the tip thereof. The valve 43 is linked to a diaphragm device 49 which is operated by the negative pressure introduced through the intermediary of a negative-pressure pump 57, a negative-pressure tank 59 and solenoid valves 55 and 56. Fuel to which pressure is applied by a fuel injection pump 23 having a pump plunger 32, etc. is injected from a nozzle 14. The pump 23 has a spill-ring position sensor 37 detecting the load and a sensor 39 detecting the number of revolutions, and further various signals from the cooling-water sensor 66 of the engine and from the valve- opening sensor 62 of the diaphragm device 49 are inputted in a computer 38. And the solenoid valves 55 and 56 are controlled based on the rate of EGR memorized in accordance with the load and the number of revolutions.
