Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate an intensified power by disposing a water-cooling heat- exchanger, into which a cooling water of an engine is supplied, on the way of a suction passage at the downstream side of a compressor which makes up a supercharger along with an exhaust gas turbine, thereby cooling a supercharged air by means of a simple structure to concentrate a suction air more thickly.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 1 wherein a cooling water jacket 3 around the periphery of a cylinder 2 is incorporated into a cooling water circulation circuit 6 containing a water pump 4 and a radiator 5 is equipped with a supercharger 10 which consists of a turbine in an exhaust passage 7 and a compressor 9 in a suction passage 8. A water-cooling heat-exchanger 11 into which a cooling water in said circulation circuit 6 is disposed on the way of the suction passage 8 at the downstream site of the compressor 9 so as to cool a supercharged air inside the suction passage 8 by means of the cooling water inside the heat-exchanger 11. The heat-exchanger 11 covers the external periphery of a pre-chamber 12 located on the way of the suction passage 8 and has inlet and output passages 13, 14 of a cooling water. A control valve 15 which opens when the temperatures of the suction air are relatively high is provided in the passage 13.
