Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure a dissolved combustible substance easily and precisely by collecting the combustible substance dissolved in water as a gaseous bldy by blowing air, and measuring its concentration. CONSTITUTION:A container 2 equipped with a float 3 is provided in water 1 to be measured and when cleaning air is blown from an air blow tube 4, a dissolved combustible substance changes into a gaseous body, which is carried to a measuring box 8 through an air collecting pipe 6 and a water trap 7 together with the air. This gas is detected by a gas detecting element 12 composed of a metal oxide semiconductor element provided to the box 8, and its output voltage is divided by resistances 17 and 18 and a thermistor 10 forming a temperature compensating circuit and led out from an output terminal 19. Then, the water trap, temperature compensating circuit and float eliminate the influence of water, temperature and a water level. Thus, the combustible substance dissolved in the water is measured easily and precisely.
