Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized optical pickup providing a two-axis actuator, by constituting a focus control actuator and a tracking actuator in one body and omitting a mirror. CONSTITUTION:An incident light passes through a mirror barrel 1 and is focused by an objective lens 10. A focus control actuator is constituted by a magnetic circuit (not shown) consisting of a ringlike magnet and a yoke under an external frame 8 and by a coil 4 connected to a coil holder 3. When a correction current flows to the coil 4, the mirror barrel 1 is slided and displaced toward axial direction in a bearing 2 for focus control. A tracking actuator is constituted by a magnetic circuit consisting of a magnet 13a and a yoke 13b above the external frame 8 and by a coil 12. When a correction current flows to the coil 12, the bearing 2 is displaced toward the arrow B against the elastic force of hollow cylindrical rubber 5 for tracking control.
