Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a device for oxygen enrichment, having excellent oxygen separation efficiency, suitable for medical use, and composed of an oxygen enriching module consisting of a number of stacked elements each having a substrate and selective oxygen-permeable membranes placed to both sides of the substrate, a fan, a vacuum pump, a heat exchanger, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An assembly 24 of a number of stacked elements each having a substrate, selective oxygen-permeable membranes placed to both sides of said substrate, and an outlet of oxygen-rich air and having a pressure drop of ≤100mmHg, is put into a container 21. The outlets of oxygen-rich air of the elements are connected to one collecting pipe 25, and an air inlet 22 and an air outlet 23 are attached to the container 23 to obtain an oxygen enrichment module. The objective device for oxygen enrichment is obtained by providing the module 41 with a fan 42 to introduce atmospheric air to the module, a vacuum pump to evacuate the module and extract the enriched air from the module, a cooling and water-separation means 44 to lower the temperature of the oxygen-rich air exhausted from the vacuum pump and to remove the excess water, etc.
