Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce pressure drop of a scrubber and save energy in operation by spraying washing water along the flow direction in the inflow side of a Venturi section at the rate of spraying conforming to the velocity of gaseous flow in the Venturi section.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gases contg. dust are introduced through an inlet 8 into a scrubbing tower 10, where coarse grain dust is removed by a washing water sprayer 6 in a sprayer chamber section 11 and fine grain dust is removed in an annular gap scrubber section 1. The washing water drops sprayed from a washing water sprayer 5 in the section 1 is introduced to the Venturi section along the gaseous flow there at the rate conforming to the velocity of the gaseous flow. Therefore, the pressure drop in the collision field by inertia in the Venturi section is decreased considerably.
