Abstract

PURPOSE:To faclitate an easy diagnosis of insulation, by fixing a pressure-sensitive element to the blow surface of a hammer that gives a blow to a coil and deciding and displaying the quality of an insulator by the output signal of the above-mentioned pressure-sensitive element. CONSTITUTION:A blow is given to a coil 1 by a hammer 5, and the output of a pressure-sensitive element 6 which is fixed to the hammer 5 and converts the intensity of blow into the electric signal is amplified by an amplifier 7 and applied to an integrator 8. The output of the integrator 8 is compared with the reference voltage by a decider 9. Thus an insulator is decided defective and nondefective in case the output of the integrator 8 is higher and lower than the reference voltage, respectively. Then lamps 9a and 9b are turned on in the case of the nondefective and defective quality, respectively. In such way, the coil insulation can be accurately diagnosed although the level of the ambient noise is high without requiring the perception of an inspector.
