Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase greatly the combustion speed at the time of low speed and low load and thereby obtain a stabilized combustion by installing a throttle valve in the neighborhood of a helical suction port and arranging a communicative branch, open at the suction port, in communication with a mutual branch duct.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 22 is installed at the suction port 5b of helical type. At the time of low load operation of the engine, a gap 33 for passage of mixture is formed to give the mixture high speed and permit it to flow eccentrically located nearer the overwall of the suction port 5b, to be sent to the combustion chamber 10 through a suction valve 3b. A communicative branch 30b is led to the suction port 5b and opened at its inner wall, through which the mixture fed through a communicative branch 30b will jet out under the suction stroke. The turbulence thus generated in the combustion chamber 10 will increase the combustion speed greatly and assure a stabilized combustion.
