Abstract

PURPOSE: To stir mixed gas forcedly by forming a jet opening to a combustion chamber when an intake valve opens approximately 20W110 degrees left and right around a straight line connecting the center of the intake valve and that of a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Simultaneously with an intake valve 13 being opened at intake stroke, a jet 26 formed on a shaft 13b of the intake valve 13 opens to a combustion chamber, and a high-pressure exhaust gas in an exhaust pipe (not illustrated) is allowed to flow partly into the combustion chamber through passage 30, annular groove 29, inflow port 28 and auxiliary suction passage 27. In this case, the exhaust gas is allowed to flow into the combustion chamber approximately 20W110 degrees left and right toward a straight line A obtainable through connecting the center O1 of the intake valve 13 and that O2 of a cylinder 1 through the jet 26. The exhaust gas thus flows toward an exhaust valve 14 side along inside wall of the cylinder 1 as indicated by arrows B, B', becomes turbulent through collision at a portion of the exhaust valve 14, thus stirring forcedly a mixed gas sucked in the combustion chamber.
