Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and the installation area of the titled equipment by cooling the molten iron poured into the mold from both outside and inside and by utilizing the heated refrigerant for electric powder generation, by enclosing the rotary drum provided with a mold at the outer periphery and a path for the refrigerant inside the drum with a steel belt which moves synchronously to the drum and which is cooled with water.
CONSTITUTION: A molten iron poured into a pouring spout 8 from a spout 29 is continuously poured into a mold 2 of a rotary drum 1. The molten iron contained in the mold 2 contacts with a steel belt 9 which moves synchronously to the mold 2 and which is cooled with water discharged from a cooling nozzle 11, and the molten iron is cooled from the outside. On the other hand, a refrigerant is supplied from a regrigerant inlet rotating shaft 4 into the rotary drum 1 and the molten iron is also cooled from the inside. The solidified shaped pig iron falls into a hopper 12 by means of the rotation of the rotary drum 1, and the shaped pig iron is cooled with water from another nozzle 12, and then, carried out with a feeder 13. The vapour thus generated is discharged from an exhaust tower 15, and the heated refrigerant is sent to a heat exchanger 16 from an outlet rotating shaft 4' and then sent to the refrigerant inlet rotating shaft 4 after the temperature is lowered. The circulating vapour of the heat exchanger 16 is sent to a turbin 21 and drives a generator 23. After driving the generator 23, the vapour becomes water at a condenser 24 and the water is returned to the heat exchanger 16.
