Abstract
PURPOSE:To cool a heat transfer surface effectively and to produce amorphous or microcrystalline metal continuously by securing a core in a hollow metallic circular columnar body to form a flow passage for a cooling medium, and flowing the cooling fluid therein by the effect of radially provided vanes. CONSTITUTION:A core 2 is secured in a hollow metallic circular columnar body and a prescribed spacing is provided between these to form a flow passage 3 for a cooling medium. Plural pieces of vanes 11 are provided radially on the rear side at one end face of the circular columnar body. When molten metal is blown to the heat transfer surface 12 of the body 1, the cooling fluid is fed into a revolving shaft 4 through the spacing between an inlet casing 22 and a supporting bar 21, and is forcibly fed to the passage 3 by the centrifugal force of the vanes 11 which revolve together with the body 1. This cooling fluid is prevented from rotating by a stationary flow guide 20, and flows down into the other revolving shaft 4, through twhich it is discharged from an outlet casing 23. During this time, the cooling fluid deprives a heat transfer surface 12, heat transfer reinforcing fins 13, etc. of heat, thereby cooling the surface 12.
