Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor superior in sensitive by adding a specified novel disazo pigment. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor contains a disazo pigment represented by the general formala (1) and A is preferably represented by the general formulae (2), (3), and (4), and it is preferably constituted as follows: (P) A layer formed by dispersing the pigment into a medium composed of a charge transfer substance and an insulating binder is formed on a conductive layer; (Q) a charge generating layer containing the pigment is formed on a conductive layer, and a charge transfer layer, for example a resin layer containing 2,5-bis(p-diethylaminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadizole is laminated on the charge generating layer; (R) the pigment is dispersed into a charge transfer complex. Especially selection of the (Q) type photoreceptor permits sensitivity to be improved, remaining potential to be lowered, and deterioration of sensitivity in repeated uses to be low.
