Then the radiation mode starts at an angle that satisfies thetan>thetac, i.e. thetan=thetai to be made incident to the single-mode fiber. Here theta1 is equivalent to the incident refractive angle when the energizing is carried out from each single-mode fiber into the fiber 1.
