Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve manufacturing efficiency of a coil unit, by a method wherein slits are formed in width direction of an element wire sheet remaining a plurality of connecting portions, and then connecting portions are cut after forming a cylinder and other connecting portions are utilized as terminals. CONSTITUTION:An element wire sheet 16 is formed by arranging a plurality of coil element wires 15 in parallel, slits 18 are formed in width direction of the element wire sheet 16 remaining a plurality of connecting portions comprising one coil element wire. The element wire sheet 16 is wound in spiral to constitute a double cylinder of inner and outer sides so that slit portions, overlaps, and then connecting portions 17 are cut thereby a coil unit 19 of a prescribed length is formed. Remaining connecting portions 17 are bent inwards and connected as terminals to commutator segments.
