Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the mass-productivity of chips, by a method wherein a plurality of traversing grooves are formed on a long strip of a coiling core, and a coil is formed in each traversing groove and the strip of the core is cut into a plurality of chips. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of traversing grooves 12 are formed at prescribed intervals on one side of the long strip of a coiling core 11 which consists of magnetic material such an ferrite or insulating material such as alumina. Then, on the same side of the coiling core 11 as the traversing grooves 12 are formed, a plurality of electrodes 13 are formed except on the portions where the traversing grooves 12 are formed. Then a conducting wire 14 is wound for a prescribed number of turns around the traversing groove at one end A of the coiling core 11 and the coiling- end 15 of the wire 14 is extended along the electrode 13 to the next traversing groove so that the wire 14 is wound for a prescribed number of turns around the next groove also. In the same way, the conducting wire 14 is wound for a prescribed number of turns around each of the traversing grooves 12 successively until it reaches another end B of the coiling core 11. Then after the conductive wire provided along the surface of the electrode 13 is fixed by soldering and so forth, the coiling core 11 is cut in the longitudinal and perpendicular directions so that the individual inductance element chip is obtained.
