Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the assembling accuray of a bulb by splitting a cylindrical member axially into two while pre-applying a face plate and an end plate to each cylindrical member then sealing the open end face of each cylindrical member. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical member is splitted axially into two thus to produce two cylindrical members 14a, 14b. A face plate 1 is applied to the first cylindrical member 14a through a frit glass 15 thus to form a sub-assembly (m) while an end plate 5 is applied to the second cylindrical member 14b thus to produce a subassembly (n). Thereafter two sub-assemblies (m), (n) are sealed into single assembly (bulb). Consequently the assembling accuracy of the bulb can be improved.
