1442583 Pick-up tubes MATSUSHITA ELECTRONICS CORP 31 Jan 1975 4367/75 Heading H1D The faceplate (3, Fig. 2, not shown) of a camera tube-e.g. a videcon-is hermetically sealed via an indium ring (2) to an end (12) of the thin-walled tube envelope which has been thickened and provided with a flat end surface by fusing and pressing. As shown, the thickened portion may be pressed radially inwardly to minimize the tube dimensions.
