Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily provide a target on the front glass of a tube, by engaging a glass tablet to a permeable hole drilled on the front glass and integrally welding it with a frit glass. CONSTITUTION:To a front glass material 20, where a permeable hole 19 is drilled in an expected part for the target to be formed, a glass tablet 21 is engaged. On the convex surface of said glass tablet 21, a metallized layer 23 and fluorescent material layer 24 are formed. Then the front glass material 20 and the glass tablet 21 are integrally sealed by frit glasses 26 to construct a front glass 2'. Thereafter, a cathode- ray tube is manufactured by the same method of assembly as usually performed.
