Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a shadow mask by constructing the support frame which constitutes a portion of a shadow mask assembly with a circumferential section, an electron shield section and a flange section for providing a curvature. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask frame 6 is supported by a support frame 9. Said support frame 9 is constructed with a circumferential section 10 which is connected through spot welding entirely along the side wall 8 of the shadow mask 6, an electron shield section 11 located perpendicularly to said circumferential section 10 or approximately in parallel to the shadow mask face and a flange section 12 connecting the circumferential section 10 to the electron shield section 11. The flange section 12 has a curvature where the center of curvature is at the side of the shadow mask.
