Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the effect of treatment with an inorganic flocculant, by preparatively adding 3W15%-DS of slaked lime to mixed crude sludge or digested sludge in a concentrating vessel or a washing vessel and then diluting the sludge with secondary treated water.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed crude sludge or digested sludge generated in a sewage disposal plant is introduced into a concentrating vessel or a washing vessel, where 3W 15%-DS of slaked lime is added to the sludge and the sludge is diluted with secondary treated water. Thereafter, to the treated mixed crude sludge or digested sludge is added an inorganic flocculant, and the sludge is subjected to coagulation. Consequently, the precipitating speed of the sludge is accelerated, while inhibiting the floatation of the sludge in the concentrating vessel and the concomitant division of a content in the concentrated sludge vessel into three layers, when the mixed crude sludge is dewatered. The dilution with the secondary treated water is done at a rate of 50vol% or more, preferably 100vol% or so, by volume of sludge water to be disposed, for instance.
