Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deformation of metallic products by the thermal expansion of brazing by providing parts which absorb thermal expansion length to jigs used in brazing metallic materials of a large coefft. of thermal expansion and small high- temp. strength.
CONSTITUTION: Fins 1 are brazed to tubes 3 of a heat exchanger of a large coefft. of thermal expansion and small high-temp. strength such as Al by using the jigs made of heat resistant materials such as stainless steel by connecting an upper beam 8 and a lower beam 5 by means of stanchions 6b. In this case the stanchions 6b of the jigs penetrate through the beam 8 and are made longer by (L2 + the thickness δ of the beam 8) than the prescribed length L1 of the heat exchanger product, and auxiliary stanchions 11 are put thereon in the positions of the extended parts L2. At the time of brazing the fins 1 to the tubes 3, the contact surfaces of the beam 8 and the tubes 3 assume the same behavior as that of the expansion of the heat exchanger and since the heat exchanger does not receive compressive load from the beam 5 and the beam 8, the deformation of the heat exchanger does not occur.
