Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce weight of a coupling and improve its stability, core misalignment and absorption of the longitudinal displacement of a shaft, by such constitution that the bolt hole of a flange of the coupling in a rotary machine is formed in a larger diameter than a bolt and a spring is interposed between the periphery of the bolt and internal surfaces of the bolt hole.
CONSTITUTION: A bolt hole 32 of a coupling flange 22 is formed to a larger contour than a bolt 23, then spring inner and outer rings 30, 31 are fitted to an internal surface of the bolt hole 32 and external surface of the bolt 23, between which a bellows spring 25 is mounted, and the bolt 23 and nut 28 are tightened by interposing a spring retainer 29, spring 26 and retainer plate 27. In this constitution, core misalignment, angular misalignment, expansion and contraction of the bolt 23, if caused, can be absorbed by cooperatively resilient deformation of the coil spring 26 and the bellows spring 25. In this way, a light weight coupling with a long life can be obtained to improve its absorption of eccentricity or extension and contraction, stability and balance.
