Abstract

PURPOSE: To process a crankshaft at high precisions by grinding fillet sections and R-sections by angular grinding, followed by grinding an outer diameter section, and eliminating the generation of notches between the fillet sections and the R- sections.
CONSTITUTION: Both fillet sections 11 and R-sections 5 in a crank journal 2 are ground by angular grinding using a grindstone 8. Then, a margin 10 in the outer diameter section remaining in the angular processing is ground by a formed grindstone 6 to finish a crankshaft at high precisions.
