Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect delivery end point certainly and accurately by detecting the fissure generated in the delivered sheet by infrared ray in sheet-like delivery of molten polymer from the batch type polymerization vessel by pressurized inert gas. CONSTITUTION:Molten polymer in a polymerization vessel 1 is delivere in sheet form from the delivery valve 2 and the delivery port 3 on the casting wheel 6 by pressurized inert gas. In this case, the infrared ray projector-acceptor 8 and the reflecting plate 9 are installed putting the delivered sheet between and oppositely. While the normally delivered sheet without the fissure, infrared ray projected from the projector-acceptor 8 is cut off by the sheet 4 and can not reach to the reflecting plate 9, then reflected ray can not be detected. As delivery end approaches, the sheet generating fissures passes, then a part of infrared ray passes through fissures, reaches to the reflecting plate 9, and reflected ray is detected by the infrared ray acceptor, then delivery end can be judged.
