Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the production efficiency of steel plate, by enabling the measurement of squareness of steel plates under carriage on ON-line basis, through the provision of a plurality of detectors vertical to the direction of carriage and the measurement of time difference when the ridges of steel plate pass.
CONSTITUTION: On a given straight line orthogonal to the direction of carriage T of the carriage line 6, the detectors A, B detecting the front and rear edge of steel plates and the detectors C, D detecting the side ridge are provided with a given distance. Further, the time difference between the time when the front ridge passes through the detector A and the detector B, and the time difference between the side ridge passes through the detector C and the detector D, are detected. Operation is made by using each time difference and the carriage speed V of steel plates to measure the squareness of the front and rear ridge of steel plates.
