Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the speed of an object to be measured moving in the optional direction by measuring and operating the time when the object passes an infrared- ray receiving field. CONSTITUTION:In the case when the object 8 to be measured advances into the respective detecting fields of infrared-ray detectors 4, 5, 6 and 7 at optional angles alpha1 and alpha2, simultaneous equations I, II and III given in the right can be formed, where the time when the object passes the detecting field of each detector is represented by t1, t2, t3 and t4 respectively and the speed of movement by v. In these equations, theta1, d1, d2, t1, t2, t3 and t4 are known quantities. By solving these equations, the speed v and the angles of advancement alpha1 and alpha2 can be found.
