Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a tin-plated steel superior in work efficiency, by detecting the plate thickness of a strip and by setting automatically a reflow voltage corresponding to the detection value to control generation of the minimum alloy layer.
CONSTITUTION: The plate thickness of strip 1 is measured successively by γ-ray plate thickness detector 2, and data is fed to operator 8 at a fixed interval in the L direction of the strip. Operator 8 operates a minimum reflow voltage on a basis of this data and sends this signal to reflow voltage setting equipment 7. Since the reflow voltage is automatically set according to the plate thickness in this manner, no-reflow is prevented for forming of the minimum alloy layer, and the work efficiency is superior because the minimum alloy layer is stable quantitatively and is minimized sufficiently.
