PURPOSE:To use one circuit as both a binary code discriminating circuit and a ternary code discriminating circuit by switching, by varying a control potential by the same LSI chip. CONSTITUTION:Shifting circuits R2-R9 and two differential couples 11 and 12 are provided; and the constant current source composed of transistors TR1 and TR3 is turned on or off by grounding or opening a terminal 13 to turn on or off one differential couple 11 or 12, and AND outputs appear at those two differential couples 11 and 12. Therefore, a discrimination output which corresponds to a binary or ternal signal is obtained at the outputs of the differential couples 11 and 12 according to a potential at the control terminal 13.
