Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of electric power, by passing a detecting current to a glow plug when current supply to the glow plug is interrupted, detecting the value of resistance caused by the temperature change of the glow plug, and controlling the time period for feeding current to the flow plug according to the detected value of resistance. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic glow relay 3 is provided in series to a passage for feeding current to a glow plug 7 from a battety 8, in the manner that it is controlled by a controller 2. The controller 2 includes a constant-current circuit 2a for feeding a detecting constant current to the flow plug 7, a constant-voltage circuit 2b, and an inverting amplifier circuit 2c for amplifying the voltage drop of glow plug 7 with inversion. Further, the controller 2 includes a temperature-level detecting circuit 2d for detecting the voltage level of the inverting amplifier circuit 2c and generating a trigger pulse for a predetermined time when the temperature of the glow plug 7 is lowered to a lower limit aimed value, a sensing-pulse generating circuit 2e, a timer circuit 2f, and a drive circuit 2h for driving the relay 3.
