Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve power factor, by providing a voltage generating means which sends out an output larger than the minimum instantaneous voltage in a pulsating DC power source. CONSTITUTION:Electric power is obtained from a pulsating DC source A which is the main electric power source. A voltage generating device F is provided which generates a voltage larger than the minimum instantaneous voltage of the pulsating DC source A when it is generated. The base electric powers for main transistors 1c and 2c are supplied mainly from both the voltage generating device F and pulsating DC source A. Then, if the pulsating direct current source is used as the main electric power source, a voltage larger than the minimum instantaneous voltage is given from the voltage generating device to the base circuits, when the minimum instantaneous voltage is generated, and the inverter is, therefore, able to develop output throughout the whole cycle of the pulsating DC. Accordingly, a load can be driven efficiently with higher power factor.
