Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent insulating film, which has excellent orientation of liquid crystal molecules and electric insulation, at low cost, by applying a substrate with paste of an organic Si compound, organic In compond and organic Al compound through a screen and then by performing a baking treatment. CONSTITUTION:Mixture of an organic Si compound (e.g., vinyl silane) an organic In compound (e.g., indium alkoxide) and an organic Al compound (e.g., aluminum acetylacetonate) is dissolved in an organic solvent and a viscous agent is further added to obtain paste, which is applied through screen printing and baked. Thus a transparent insulating film is formed which uses SiO2-In2O3-Al2O3 oxide as a component and has excellent filming characteristics and film strength, excellent orientation of liquid crystal molecules, and excellent electric insulation without requiring large-scale manufacture facilities.
