Abstract

PURPOSE:The combustion exhaust gas from the regenerator in the glass-melting furnace is utilized to heat both the secondary air to furnace heating and the gas-solid mixture gas for preheating glass raw materials to increase the heat recovery yield from the exhaust gas in the glass-melting furnace. CONSTITUTION:The high-temperature combustion exhaust gas 5 from the glass- melting furnace comes into regenerator 3 to heat it, further passing through exchange valve 6 and a part of it comes into the heat exchanger for the secondary air 8 to heat the secondary air 4 sent with pump 17. The secondary air is further heated in the regenerator which has been heated as cited above and sent into the glass-melting furnace 1 as the air for combusting the fuel. The rest of the exhaust gas from the heat exchanger 3 comes into the heat exchanger 9 for the gas-solid mixed gas to heat the gas-solid mixed gas containing fine particles of substances which cause no decomposition and fusing at elevated temperature such as SiO2 or MgO in a gas such as air and the resultant mixed gas efficiently heats the glass raw materials 12 in the hopper 11.
