Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the transmission state of a signal accurately, by shaping the waveform of the demodulation output of a receiver and by counting the number of times, when the time of H and/or L states of the output is equal to a prescribed time, for a prescribed time and by discriminating the transmission state of the signal on a basis of the count value. CONSTITUTION:The digital signal modulated by the modulation system such as a frequency shift system is demodulated by a receiver 1 and is inputted to a comparing circuit 3 through an LPF2 and has the waveform shaped by the circuit 3 and is supplied to one input of an AND gate 4. A clock of a speed several or more times as high as the transmission speed of the signal from a high-speed clock generating circuit 5 is inputted to the other input of the gate 4. By a control circuit 7, a counter 6 is started when the output of the circuit 3 rises, and the counting is stopped when the output of the circuit falls. Then, the number of times when the time of H and/or L states of the shaped output is equal to about 1/2T (T is the clock period of the signal) is counted for a prescribed time by the counter 6; and when the count value exceeds a prescribed value, the transmission state of the signal is discriminated by the circuit 7.
