Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the wear resistance of a high-C austenite cast Fe alloy contg. Cr and Ni at high temp. by forming the structure with an austenite matrix and hypereutectic and eutectic carbides.
CONSTITUTION: This austenite cast alloy consists of 1.1W2.0% C, <2.0% Si, <2.0% Mn, 29W40% Cr, 31W50% Ni and the balance Fe or further contains <2.0% Mo and/or <4.0% W while satisfying 31% ≤Cr+Mo×1/2+W×1/4≤40%. One or more among <1% V, <2% Nb, <4% Ta and <1% Ti may be substituted for part of Cr while satisfying 31% ≤Cr+V+Ti+(Mo+Nb)/2+(W+Ta)/4≤ 40%.The structure is formed with a stable austenite matrix and hypereutectic and eutectic carbides based on M23C6 type Cr. Thus, the wear resistance of the heat resistant alloy for casting at high temp. is enhanced.
