Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high level output contactless without utilizing an electric charge of an ink drop by making the ink drop fly between a photoreceiving section in which a photoreceiving area varies with the flying position thereof and a light emitting section. CONSTITUTION:An ink drop 14 is made to fly in the direction X between a light emitting section 11 and a photoreceiving section 12 in which a photoreceiving area varies with the position of flying an ink drop in a shape as indicated by a-d in the drawing. The output is varied at a ratio between an overall area of a photoreceiving surface and a light shielding area, and a difference is amplified between a voltage of a photovoltaic voltage element of the photoreceiving section 12 and a deflection reference voltage Vref indicating an intended deflection position with a differential amplifier 15. When the differential voltage is negative (excessive deflection), the charge voltage is lowered while it is raised when the difference is positive (insufficient deflection). Thus the control system is organized in the manner that the difference between the above two statuses is brought to zero.
