Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of focus detection by arranging a group of photoelectric converting elements in contact with a focal plane so that they may be electrically driven.
CONSTITUTION: A group of aligned photoelectric converting elements 2 are arranged in contact with a focal plane 1 and are so driven by a clock pulse generator 3 that outputs may be generated consecutively from the terminals 2a of the group 2 at one side. The resultant output is rectified at 5 through a differential circuit 4. The sum within the moving range of an optical system is calculated at 6 to drive a meter 7 so that the maximum indication indicates the focus of the optical system.
