Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily form an insulating film on the surface of an electromagnetic steel sheet within a short period, by applying a powdery resin onto the surface of the steel sheet during the production of the electromagnetic steel sheet in an ultrarapid cooling method.
CONSTITUTION: A steel melt as a material for an electromagnetic steel sheet is dropped from a crucible 1 through a nozzle 2 onto a roll 3 rotating at a high speed and cooled super-rapidly, to continuously produce an electromagnetic steel sheet 5. The electromagnetic steel sheet 5 is passed through a space between temperature- control rolls 4a, 4b, so as to maintain the temperature of the steel sheet 5 at a level higher by about 10°C than the melting point of an insulating film-forming powdery resin 7 to be applied. Thereafter, the thermosetting or thermoplastic resin powder 7 injected from an electrostatic flow-dip device 6 located below the steel sheet 5 is sprayed onto the steel sheet 5 during its running toward a guide foll 9. The powder 7 is charged with high voltage electricity by an anode 6a to which a voltage of 40'60kV is charged from a high voltage power source 8. The steel sheet 5 is kept at an earth potential by the temperature-control roll 4a, so that the powder 7 closely adherse onto the steel sheet 5 and melted. Consequently, the insulating film layer can be formed within a short period.
