Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a covered part for spring blank wire easily and efficiently by rotating a part in the axial direction of a preheated coil spring in a through like container that contains thermoplastic resin powder having ≤250°C melting point.
CONSTITUTION: A coil spring 1 formed by coiling a blank wire 2 for spring is preheated to make the surface temperature to 100W250°C. Thermoplastic resin powder 4 having ≤250°C melting point is contained in a containers 3 having open upper faces. The containers 3 are moved in the longitudinal direction with both ends of the coil spring 1 immersed in the powder 4. The surface of the material 2 is covered with the powder 4. The powder 4 is heated and melted by keeping it at about 200°C for 10W20min by a suitable method and then cooled and solidified. The amount of adhesion of the powder 4 can be determined according to the surface temperature of the material 2, the particle size of the powder, etc.
