Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which is capable of forming a recording medium having a high orientation rate, constituting by placing a nonmagnetic member which is temperature controlled, on an unhardened magnetic recording medium running in the direction meeting at right angles with a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:Between magnetic pole surfaces 1a, 1b of an orientation magnet 1 on which N and S poles are provided oppositely, a nonmagnetic tape-like base body 3 on which an undried coating film layer 2 containing magnetic particles is made to pass through in the direction as indicated with an arrow X by running mechanisms 4, 5 and 6, an easily magnetizing axis is oriented in the running orthogonal direction, and a vertical magnetic recording medium is manufactured. In said device, a nonmagnetic member 8 whose temperature is controlled so as to increase a calorific value gradually as the tape-like base body 3 proceeds in the running direction is installed to the reverse side of the base body 3. Accordingly, magnetic particles P in the coating film layer 3 turn easily at the position where they are in the magnetic field, the easily magnetizing axis is oriented in the direction of the magnetic field, and subsequently, they are fixed as they are remaining in said oriented state, by heating them from the nonmagnetic member 8.
