Abstract
PURPOSE:To completely remove air bubbles in glass of the tape sliding surface, and also to stabilize the performance, by heating a member constituting a magnetic head at a temperature of >=550 deg.C, before glass bonding. CONSTITUTION:A core block 8 of single crystal ferrite which is provided with a notch part 10 leaving a 60mum track part 4, and a core block 9 which is provided with a winding notch 11 and a glass notch 12 are brought to heat treatment at 700 deg.C under reduced pressure for 30min. Subsequently, the blocks 8, 9 are butted by use of a suitable jig 16, a glass rod 15 is inserted into the notch grooves 11, 12, heat treatment is executed at 680 deg.C for 5min, the glass rod 15 is melted, and they are formed in one body. In this way, dirt of an organic matter which is stuck during the working process of a core material, by which air bubbles are caused is decomposed, and generation of air bubbles in glass is prevented completely. Furthermore, the magnetic characteristics by the working distortion of ferrite are restored by heat treatment, and the performance is stabilized.
