Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the joint strength of a ferrite core as well as a narrow gap length in a stable way, by having a melt-sticking step of glass in a series of treating processes. CONSTITUTION:A vertical groove 2 is cut on the surface of a core 1 to control the track width, and a winding is stored into a horizontal groove 3 with a U-shaped cross section so that the tip of the groove 2 is connected to a core 1a of one side of a pair of cores 1. The groove 3 is also used for the melt-sticking of glass. In addition, a rear groove 4 is provided on the surface of the opposite side tothe groove 2 to be used for a melt-sticking groove. The glass layers 5 and 5a are formed on a gap forming surface by a vapor deposition process. The layers 5 and 5a are set opposite to each other to be coincident with the groove 2, and the pressure is applied from both sides of these layers. Then melt-sticking glass rods 6 and 7 having the same melting temperature as the layers 5 and 5a are put into the grooves 4 and 3 with the groove 4 side turned up to be pressed and heated. The rod 7 put into the groove 3 is melted and flows into the communicated groove 2 to form the reinforcing glass of the track part.
