Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform heat treatment simultaneously with one time of glass melt- sticking work for core halves and obtain a magnetic head suitable for VTRs by specifying the composition of an Mn-Zn-Fe ferrite single crystal and heat-treatment conditions. CONSTITUTION:A pair of core halves which are an Mn-Zn-Fe ferrite single crystal of <=54mol% up to about 48mol% Fe contents and of which the specific resistance rho is 0.3-1.0(OMEGA-cm) are thermally melt-stuck within the range of 700-800 deg.C by using glass. Thereby, the melt-sticking and the heat treatment processes are accomplished simultaneously, and the degradation in magnetic characteristics owing to the working of the ferrite halves is compensated. In this way, the magnetic head of superior recording and reproducing characteristics suitable for VTRs is obtained.
