Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent a temperature drop, increase stirring ability for the molten steel and fomogenize the components of the steel, by carrying out a degassing method for the ladle using the suction pipe and heating electrode of a tank degassing method and taking the full advantage of the merits of the same method. CONSTITUTION:Vacuuming the inside of a vacuum container 2 by evacuation, the suction pipe 10 and a slag separater 20 are inserted into the molten steel in the ladle 1, and an inert gas blows up from a conduit pipe 21 for the inert gas. Then, the molten steel is lifted in the hole of the pipe 10 by a gas lift to flood from the top of the pipe 10, being degassed and purified in vacuum. The emitted gas is removed through an exhaust hole 4 and an exhaust pipe 6, and the purified molten steel passes through a hollow part 22 between the pipe 10 and the separator 20 to return into the molten steel in the ladle without touching the slag S. Further, during the degassing, the resistance heating electrode 7 is energized, and the refractory 5 of an upper lid 3 is heated to avoid a radiation thermal loss.
