Abstract

A kind of microwave melting apparatus used to heat the material or waste to be melted so as to be vitrified or densified, which includes an inlet device for transferring those materials; a high temperature melting furnace for high temperature melting process. The main feature is that the melting furnace is constructed by a vertical metal cylinder with anti-heat and insulation materials on the inner wall. And, from the top to the bottom, there forms: (a) inlet connection part, which is on top of the furnace, there is an inlet connecting to the inlet device on the top; an outlet opening for exhausting the gases in the furnace upward at the side; an opening to the bottom of the inner furnace at the bottom. (b) Microwave melting furnace, as the main furnace, there is a top opening connected to the connection part; and a top opening supported by a framework in the heating chamber right to the top opening. In the center of bottom of the crucible, there is a guide tube for molten materials extended to the crucible made of silicon carbide of the outlet on the bottom of the furnace. In the mean time, on the side wall of the furnace, there are at least one pair of microwave inlet diameter-symmetrically located for microwave inlet into the chamber to heat the crucible and the materials within it.
