Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the ignition lag of flame within a main combustion chamber and enable to ignite with less fuel by a method wherein ignition plugs are provided in the main combustion chamber as well as within an auxiliary combustion chamber at the head of the combustor and the instant ignition within the main combustion chamber is accomplished by means of both the flame of the auxiliary combustion chamber and the ignition plug in the main combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A part of a discharge air 100 flowing through the annular part between the outer casing 1 and the combustion liner 2 of the combustor flows into the main combustion chamber 10 through diluting air openings 4 of the combustion liner 2 as the diluting air 101. Another part of the discharge air 100 flows into a premixer 13 and is mixed with primary fuel 105 to be jetted into the auxiliary combustion chamber 15 through a swirler 11. The remaining discharge air 100 is jeted into the main combustion chamber 10 through a swirler 12 as the combustion air 102 in the main combustion chamber 10. Also, the fuel 106 for combustion at the main combustion chamber 10 is jetted through nozzles 104 from the swirler 12 together with the combustion air 102 into the main combustion chamber 10. The ignition plugs 8 and 9 are respectively provided in the auxiliary combustion chamber 15 and the main combustion chamber 10.
